Education and certification can prepare you for many occupations in the field of early education. At Grant Regional Career Center, you’ll get on-the-job training as you work in our elementary schools, Head Start program, and local child care centers. You’ll learn techniques and gain knowledge of a wide range of education-related topics.

Typical salary range: $25,000 - $90,000+

In some classes, students can earn high school credit and college credit at the same time! (This can save you big on your college bills!)

John A. Beineke, Ed.D, Class of 1968: Teacher at McCulloch Junior High School, then professor and administrator at several colleges; program director at Kellog Foundation; author
Richard Booth, J.D., Class of 1969: Professor and McGuinn Chair in Business Law at Villanova Law School; internationally recognized expert and author in business law and finance; admitted to the bars of New York, Texas, U.S. Supreme Court.
Kenneth Browner, Class of 1982, teacher who helped develop African American history and ethnic studies curricula for Indianapolis area schools, well-respected track coach, Indiana Association of Track & Cross Country Coaches Hall of Fame inductee
Sharon Dunwoody, Ph.D, Class of 1965: Professor emerita at University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Journalism and Mass Communication; award-winning researcher in the field of science communication
Francis Edward Fisher, Class of 1951: Deputy director of the NASA Office of Inspector General; FBI special agent; Korean War veteran; teacher in Marion and Florida
Jerry McVicker, Ed.S, Class of 1963: Longtime educator who served Marion Community Schools for 35 years, as a teacher and in various administrative roles including interim superintendent; he also served as a bank director for 25 years.
Richard "Dick" Persinger, Class of 1957: Longtime teacher, coach, and administrator at Marion High School, serving as principal for 10 years; also served on the Marion City Council
Avis Martin Stewart, Class of 1970: Longtime teacher, coach, administrator, community leader, first at Marion Community Schools, then at Richmond High School, then at Earlham College
Clyde Thornell, Class of 1965, longtime educator at Marion High School who helped usher the Business Department (and his fellow educators) into the computer age, provided vocational training for the community, and has been an active and essential community volunteer
