SkillsUSA
SkillsUSA is a national organization that empowers students pursuing careers in skilled trades, technical fields, and leadership roles. This club provides opportunities for students to develop professional skills, leadership abilities, and hands-on expertise through competitions, training, and networking events.
At Grant Regional Career Center, our SkillsUSA club meets bi-weekly. Our meetings are designed to enhance career readiness, build confidence, and foster a strong professional network for students. Students engage in a variety of activities, including:
- Skills development workshops: Hands-on training sessions to improve technical and leadership skills
- Competition preparation: Practicing for local, state, and national SkillsUSA contests
- Guest speaker presentations: Industry professionals and alumni share career insights and advice
- Community service projects: Volunteer initiatives organized by the club to give back to our community
- Leadership training: Helps students develop teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Fundraising events: Activities planned and executed by the club to support other initiatives
