Meal deliveries available for local kids this summer

Marion Community Schools is excited to announce that we will have meal delivery available again this summer!

All children age 18 and under in the Marion Community Schools district qualify for this program. We will have plenty for all who want to sign up!

This year, boxes will be delivered to homes every 10 days. Each delivery will include 10 breakfasts and 10 lunches. Deliveries will start on May 27 and run through Aug. 4. Ordering is NOW OPEN for the first three boxes!

>> The deadline to order box No. 1 is May 18.

To order yours, log on to your Infinite Campus Parent Portal, in the School Store. (If you need assistance accessing your Parent Portal account, contact your school secretary.) It’s very important that you verify your address, phone number, and email in your Parent Portal, so you can receive your deliveries and any updates. If your address or contact information changes during the summer, please reach out to the MCS Food Service office (765-662-2546 ext. 8026) to ensure there is no interruption of your deliveries!

Once we have received your order through Infinite Campus, you will receive an email confirming your order. The day of delivery, you will receive a text message with estimated time of arrival. You will receive a second text when the delivery is complete. Some items in the box are perishable and will need to be placed in your refrigerator immediately. Please make sure someone is available to properly store items.

We will send reminders when it's time to order your next box.

Eligibility details:

The Summer Food Service Program for Children was created to serve nutritious meals to children when the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Program meals are not available.

Under this program, free meals are provided to all eligible children ages 1 to 18. There is no income requirement for this program. Acceptance and participation requirements for the program are the same for all children regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age or disability.

Students already participating in a CACFP daycare or another free summer meal program would not be eligible for the MCS program.

Students enrolled in MCS summer classes will be provided with free meals onsite through June 18, and will also be able to pick up weekend meal bags on June 5 and June 12. Pre-orders for weekend bags are available in the Infinite Campus Parent Portal School Store now. These students will become eligible for meal deliveries after June 18.
